Crispy Garlic Dill Pickles
This recipe was handed down to me by my mom, it is by far the best recipe I have tried. Believe me! I have lost it during moves, misplaced it or just didn't take care of it and ended up scouring the web for pickle recipes but have never found one I love as much. I know you are probably thinking, like I did that they are all pretty much the same, and they kind of are, so what makes this one any different? The combination of ingredients and method is perfect for a super crunchy, not too salty, extra garlicy goodness!
Ingredients:
Serving Size : 12-18 32oz. jars (depending on size of cucumbers)
10 lbs. Pickling Cucumbers:
36 Cloves Garlic
24 heads Dill
8 cups Vinegar
4 cups Water
3 Tbsp. Pickling or Coarse Salt
Brine:
Combine Vinegar, Water and Salt
Bring to a gentle boil
Directions:
Sterilize jars and lids; place jars in oven set to 190 degrees and lids in a pot of water on med/low heat to keep warm
Place 2 heads of Dill and 3 large cloves of Garlic in each jar before packing tightly with cucumbers
Fill remainder of the jars with hot brine leaving 1" headspace
Place lids and process in a hot water bath for 5 mins.
