Come Harvest with
Grown, Gathered and Preseved
For over fifteen years my family has foraged and farmed our own food in an effort to be self sufficient. Now we want to share this life with you!
HOMESTEAD? IT'S JUST OUR HOME
I would love nothing more than to live at the end of a long dirt road, surrounded by 100 acres of land, raising livestock and chickens, build a huge greenhouse and a large garden to spend my days in. But really, do I need all that to start living the dream.
20 years ago we grew our first tomatoes on the balcony of our second floor apartment and they were amazing! I once turned my only patch of yard into a potato plot, a small 8x10 nook in our very small lot. Once I finally had a yard I build a nice 20 x 30 fenced in garden where we grew everything we had wished we had room for before.
Our living situation has changed so many times during our lives but whatever we had we used for growing and raising our own food. From windowsills to patios to digging in the earth, there's always a space to grow in. We've managed to raise chickens for eggs and meat, sheep and cows. We gather from the land what we can't grow or raise - mushrooms, berries, meat and fish.
On less that half an acre we have been carving out a sustainable life, raised our children to understand where their food comes from and what responsibility means. We have been truly blessed to share the ups and downs together along the way and I have finally realized - I've been living the dream the whole time.
